Sleeping Cat

Sleeping Cat

Not the sunset caught as fire
Underneath drawn out clouds.

Not the smell of coffee being made
First thing in the morning.

Not the feel of fresh washed sheets
Just as you climb into bed.

Not the sound of warblers back
From migration singing.

Not the quiet of a Sunday night
When everyone is in thought.

Nor the quality of Beethoven’s
“Moonlight Sonata.”

Can be as ever peaceful
As a cat curled up sleeping.

  1. Especially when that cat is in your lap.

  2. Reblogged this on quirkywritingcorner and commented:
This creates such a nice relaxing picture after a day of stress.
